THE HANNAFORD STREET SILVER BAND - Northern Delights
Well known for its releases on the CBC label, The Hannaford Band's program for Opening Day features light classical repertoire of wide appeal. The band's recordings enjoy an enviable profile on CBC radio. Conductor, composer and arranger Howard Cable has been a leading figure in the musical life of Canada for over 50 years. He has directed over 1000 CBC radio broadcasts and conducted and arranged for many of the networks most celebrated television programs. In addition to his frequent engagements with the Hannaford Street Silver Band, Howard Cable arranges for the Canadian Brass, The Elmer Iseler Singers and the Toronto Childrens Chorus. His work has been recorded on various labels, including Philips Digital Classics and CBC SM5000. Mr. Cables most recent Canadian Brass recording, Fireworks! can be heard on the RCA Victor label.
